Lauren LaPonzina co-anchors FOX 35 News at 5AM and FOX 35 News at 8AM. She's also FOX 35's medical reporter. She has two dogs. Her "first born" is a purebred Golden Retriever she got from a breeder in New York.
He has more diplomas than Lauren as he's a registered "pet therapy dog" and has been recognized by the American Kennel Club as a Canine Good Citizen. "Topper" has clearance to enter local hospitals, schools, and nursing homes to work with people with special needs. He's also been featured on Fox at Five and in the Syracuse New Times Newspaper. Sources say Lauren's television agent is considering dropping her and representing Topper instead.
Lauren's newest addition is her rescue dog, "Bella." Bella is a purebred English Pointer who was dumped at a local shelter and was sitting on "death row" when she stole Lauren's heart. Bella has no formal education or accolades like her brother, Topper, but steals the show every time. She loves bones and anything soft to lounge on. Her dog bed, and Lauren's couch are her favorites. Bella and Topper are the best of friends. Tug of War is their favorite game this month.
